Whether you are a recent graduate or on the verge of completing your studies, we invite you to be a part of our multicultural and international work environment as we drive forward the energy transition.<\/p>\n<p>About the position<br \/>\nThis role provides a unique opportunity to support us in shaping the energy transition and the energy business atW\u00e4rtsil\u00e4.The position will be based in Helsinki, Finland.<\/p>\n<p>As a Power System Analyst, you will:<br \/>\n * Actively engage in and provide robust support for our global market development and decarbonization service activities, utilizing power system modelling tools such as Plexos \u2013 power system optimization software, Python and Excel-based tools. Leverage these tools to analyse opportunities and quantify system-level benefits.<br \/>\n * Conduct comprehensive energy market and country analyses to underpin project and market development initiatives, offering valuable insights and strategic guidance.<br \/>\n * Collaborate in supporting W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 strategy by contributing to the development of compelling value propositions, conducting feasibility analyses, and creating sophisticated analysis tools.<br \/>\n * Perform techno-commercial analyses for projects, playing a key role in supporting the sales organization and ensuring a thorough understanding of the market landscape.<br \/>\n * Effectively communicate and present analysis results to both internal and external stakeholders of W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4. This includes active participation in meetings, seminars, and other influential events where insights can drive informed decision-making.<br \/>\n * Take ownership of developing and maintaining power system models and feasibility calculation tools, ensuring their accuracy and relevance in the ever-evolving energy landscape.<br \/>\n * Contribute to the advancement of process-based system modelling, with a focus on data storage and handling, as well as result analytics and visualization. Stay at the forefront of developments in this field to continually enhance our modelling capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>To be successful in this role, certain qualifications should align with your profile:<br \/>\n * Recently graduated from university or nearing graduation, with a major in economics, finance, operations research, computer science, or other quantitatively focused disciplines and a general understanding of modern electric power systems.<br \/>\n * Alignment with our core values \u2013 Customer Success, Passion, and Performance \u2013 should resonate with you, and you naturally embody these values in your daily work, demonstrating ownership and responsibility.<br \/>\n * Possess excellent analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset, showcasing an ability to model and resolve complex issues.<br \/>\n * While knowledge of Python, Plexos or power system modelling software is advantageous, prior experience is not mandatory.<br \/>\n * Possess a basic understanding of data analytics and coding.<br \/>\n * Being a team player with strong interpersonal skills is crucial, along with a genuine interest in the energy business and enthusiasm for travel.<br \/>\n * Fluency in English.
