**Joensuu preferred | Hybrid\/remote within Finland possible | Full-time or part-time alongside studies**<\/p>\n

Forest Key is looking for a **Geospatial AI Developer** to strengthen our capacity to develop AI-based solutions for forestry.<\/p>\n

We work at the intersection of forestry, remote sensing, GIS, data analytics and software development. The role supports our growing international project portfolio and the development of customer-specific digital solutions for operational forestry.<\/p>\n

**Your role**<\/p>\n

Your main task will be to develop **AI-based remote-sensing and GIS data-processing solutions for forestry applications**.<\/p>\n

The emphasis is on technical development, analytical workflows and robust code rather than polished user-interface development.<\/p>\n

Your work may include:<\/p>\n

– developing AI and machine-learning solutions using remote-sensing, GIS and forestry data;<\/p>\n

– processing and analysing satellite, LiDAR, drone and other large geospatial datasets;<\/p>\n

– developing Python-based workflows and maintainable processing pipelines;<\/p>\n

– implementing solutions in cloud or other scalable computing environments; and<\/p>\n

– supporting technical demonstrations, customer discussions and solution development.<\/p>\n

**What we are looking for**<\/p>\n

You do not need to be a senior specialist. We are interested in someone with relevant practical experience, strong technical skills and the ability to develop toward independent responsibility.<\/p>\n

We expect:<\/p>\n

– strong **Python** programming skills;<\/p>\n

– practical experience with **AI or machine learning**;<\/p>\n

– experience with **remote sensing, GIS and LiDAR or point-cloud data**;<\/p>\n

– relevant experience or understanding of the **forest sector and forestry applications**;<\/p>\n

– ability to develop analytical work into repeatable and maintainable technical solutions;<\/p>\n

– ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems; and<\/p>\n

– professional proficiency in **English**.<\/p>\n

Professional proficiency in Finnish is a clear advantage.<\/p>\n

**Additional advantages**<\/p>\n

Experience with one or more of the following is beneficial:<\/p>\n

– deep learning, computer vision or advanced point-cloud processing;<\/p>\n

– Azure or another cloud environment, Docker or related deployment technologies;<\/p>\n

– spatial databases or geospatial software development;<\/p>\n

– technical customer meetings and demonstrations; or<\/p>\n

– other languages relevant to international work.<\/p>\n

Occasional participation in customer visits, conferences or international project activities may be possible.<\/p>\n

**Location and working arrangements**<\/p>\n

Our office is in **Joensuu**, and the possibility to work regularly from Joensuu is a clear advantage. Hybrid and remote working arrangements within Finland are possible.<\/p>\n

The position can be **full-time**, but working hours can also be adapted for a suitable candidate who is completing studies.<\/p>\n

For administrative reasons, we are currently looking for a person who is resident and able to work in Finland.<\/p>\n
