PiBond is building a new R&D team, and we are looking for a Senior Formulation Scientist. You will take development projects from first concept to finished product, working at the intersection of siloxane chemistry and the electronic applications that power the semiconductor industry.<\/p>\n

We are one of the few companies in the world that develops and manufactures ultra-high-purity siloxane and metal-oxide materials used by leading semiconductor foundries at the most advanced nodes. This is a rare chance to do deep technical work that ships into real, cutting-edge devices \u2014 alongside colleagues who care as much about the science as you do.<\/p>\n

The role<\/p>\n

As a Senior Formulation Scientist, you will own product development end to end \u2014 designing die attach materials from scratch, refining them, and carrying them through to manufacturing and scale-up. Day to day, you will:<\/p>\n

Plan, execute, and report formulation work, and drive new products from concept to launch.<\/p>\n

Diagnose and resolve issues in analysis and production and develop new testing methods when none exist.<\/p>\n

Design experiments to identify and eliminate failure modes, and to improve the reliability and stability of existing products.<\/p>\n

Research, evaluate, and order the raw materials your projects need.<\/p>\n

Scale products up from the lab toward production.<\/p>\n

Work hands-on in the lab with the team, from paste production through to material testing.<\/p>\n

The role involves occasional travel to customer sites or PiBonds other facilities.<\/p>\n

What you bring<\/p>\n

Must-haves:<\/p>\n

* Packaging materials, such as MUF, CUF and die attach materials.<\/p>\n

* Siloxane and metal-oxide chemistry. Proven experience with both \u2014 these are core to our technology.<\/p>\n

* Full product lifecycle. A track record across R&D, manufacturing, scale-up, product characterization, and failure-mode analysis.<\/p>\n

* Depth of experience. 10\u201315 years of industrial experience in die attach and siloxane-based materials R&D and production.<\/p>\n

* Lab capability. Able to work efficiently and practically in the lab, from formulation to testing, as part of a team.<\/p>\n

* Languages. Fluent English and Finnish.<\/p>\n

Nice-to-haves:<\/p>\n

* Experience across a range of polymer chemistries beyond siloxanes.<\/p>\n

* Equipment know-how spanning paste production to material testing.<\/p>\n

* IT and programming skills for data collection and automated data analysis.<\/p>\n

* Experience guiding trainees, laborants, or chemists.<\/p>\n
