We are looking for Husky Guides to join our team as soon as possible. We currently have **two positions availabe**.<\/p>\n
This is not just a guiding job. It’s a role where guest experiences, animal welfare, and life in the Arctic come together. You’ll become part of a professional kennel with around 200 sled dogs, from energetic young athletes to experienced retirees.<\/p>\n
As a Husky Guide, you’ll spend your days caring for dogs, guiding guests, and helping create experiences that many of our visitors have dreamed about for years. The work is physical, hands-on, and takes place outdoors throughout the year. No two days are exactly alike, but they all have two things in common: dogs and people.<\/p>\n
**What would your workday look like?**<\/p>\n
**_Morning \u2013 the dogs come first_**<\/p>\n
Our workdays start at **8:00 AM** in summer and autumn and **7:00 AM** during winter.<\/p>\n
The day begins by feeding the dogs, checking water, and preparing the kennel for the activities ahead. Although we care for around 200 sled dogs, you’ll work closely with smaller groups and quickly get to know their individual personalities.<\/p>\n
**_Daytime \u2013 trails, training, and guest experiences_**<\/p>\n
Once the kennel routines are complete, it’s time to head outdoors.<\/p>\n
In summer, the days include free running, hikes, and kennel visits. Autumn focuses on training with carts and ATVs, while winter is all about guiding husky safaris, often twice a day.<\/p>\n
Whether you’re leading a safari or welcoming guests to the kennel, you’ll introduce them to the dogs, share stories about kennel life, answer questions, and help create unforgettable Arctic experiences.<\/p>\n

**_Midday \u2013 a chance to recharge_**<\/p>\n
Between activities there’s usually a quieter moment to feed the dogs their lunch, enjoy your own break, and prepare for the afternoon.<\/p>\n
**_Afternoon \u2013 getting ready for tomorrow_**<\/p>\n
Most guest activities finish around **3:00 PM**.<\/p>\n
The rest of the day is spent cleaning and preparing the kennel, maintaining equipment, feeding the dogs their evening meal, and making sure everything is ready for the next day.<\/p>\n
A good day ends with happy guests, content dogs, and a kennel prepared for tomorrow’s adventures.<\/p>\n
**What the job includes**<\/p>\n
– Guiding husky safaris, hikes, kennel visits, and cart tours<\/p>\n
– Daily kennel work and dog care<\/p>\n
– Feeding, handling, training, and socialising dogs<\/p>\n
– Working closely with guests from around the world<\/p>\n
– Assisting with transportation and logistics when needed<\/p>\n
– Driving snowmobiles, ATVs, and dog sleds (training provided as needed)<\/p>\n
– Maintaining high standards of animal welfare<\/p>\n
– Small maintenance tasks around the kennel<\/p>\n
– Working outdoors in all weather conditions<\/p>\n
**What we expect from you**<\/p>\n
– Minimum age of 22 years<\/p>\n
– Fluent English (additional languages are a major advantage)<\/p>\n
– Valid driver’s licence<\/p>\n
– Strong physical condition<\/p>\n
– Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions<\/p>\n
– Positive attitude and willingness to learn<\/p>\n
– Good customer service and communication skills<\/p>\n
– Ability to work both independently and as part of a team<\/p>\n
Previous experience in guiding, tourism, hospitality, outdoor activities, or working with animals is considered an advantage. Experience with snowmobiles is also beneficial, but not required. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with both people and dogs.<\/p>\n

Working in Lapland is more than just a job. Our kennel is located in the municipality of Inari, far above the Arctic Circle. Winter is long and snowy, summer brings the Midnight Sun, and nature is always close by.<\/p>\n
You’ll experience the full Arctic year: bright summer nights, colourful autumn landscapes, the deepest polar night, and the return of the sun in late January.<\/p>\n

Staff accommodation is available if needed. The apartments are clean and fully equipped\u2014in practice, you only need to bring your toothbrush and suitable outdoor clothing. Accommodation is shared, with two employees per room.<\/p>\n
**Salary and terms**<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Starting salary: **\u20ac 2236 \/ month** (\u20ac 13 \/ hour) **+ supplements,** final salary depends on experience and qualifications<\/p>\n
\u00b7 **Working hours:** 120 hours \/ 3 weeks<\/p>\n
\u00b7 **Working hours bank:** All employees have access to a working hours bank. Working hours vary during the season, and extra hours worked during busier periods can later be taken as time off. If any hours remain unused, they will be paid out at the end of employment.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 **Employment period:** The position starts as soon as possible and continues until March or April 2027.<\/p>\n
