The role combines hands-on automation engineering with field activities, offering a unique opportunity to work closely with both product development and manufacturing. Your focus will be on developing and optimizing Beckhoff-based automation systems, factory testing, and site commissioning activities. In addition to supporting deployments, you will contribute to the development and improvement of commissioning and testing processes, helping Convion increase efficiency, quality, and repeatability across projects. You will work closely with automation, electrical, mechanical, and production teams, as well as support commissioning activities at customer sites when needed. The role requires a willingness to travel internationally, as system installations and commissioning projects are expected to increase in the coming years. The position is based in Vantaa and follows a hybrid working model. However, during testing, and other critical project phases, a strong on-site presence is expected.<\/p>\n<p>You are offered<br \/>\n&#8211; A key role in the development of advanced automation solutions<br \/>\n&#8211; An opportunity to work with innovative fuel cell and energy technologies<br \/>\n&#8211; A multicultural and international working environment<br \/>\n&#8211; A hybrid working model with flexibility<br \/>\n&#8211; Long-term opportunities to contribute to future product development projects<\/p>\n<p>Work tasks<br \/>\n&#8211; Develop, implement and test Beckhoff-based automation hardware and software for fuel cell applications<br \/>\n&#8211; Design, configure, validate, and troubleshoot PLC systems, I\/O signals, field devices, and industrial communication networks<br \/>\n&#8211; Participate in factory testing and system verification before delivery<br \/>\n&#8211; Execute installation start-up, and commissioning activities at customer sites in Finland and abroad<br \/>\n&#8211; Analyze technical issues, identify root causes, and drive continuous system improvements together with cross-functional teams<br \/>\n&#8211; Contribute to the development and optimization of hardware selections and software architectures to improve efficiency and quality<br \/>\n&#8211; Participate in automation development activities, including PLC programming and system improvements<br \/>\n&#8211; Support production, assembly, and electrical teams during testing and commissioning phases<br \/>\n&#8211; Prepare and maintain technical documentation, test procedures, and commissioning reports<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; A relevant educational background in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field<br \/>\n&#8211; Several years of experience working with industrial automation systems, commissioning activities and software development<br \/>\n&#8211; Strong hands-on experience with PLC systems, preferably Beckhoff<br \/>\n&#8211; Experience in developing, implementing and troubleshooting automation systems in industrial environments<br \/>\n&#8211; Solid understanding of industrial communication systems and field devices<br \/>\n&#8211; Ability to create, read and interpret technical documentation related to automation and electrical systems<br \/>\n&#8211; Full working proficiency in English<br \/>\n&#8211; Willingness to travel internationally<\/p>\n<p>It is meritorious if you have<br \/>\n&#8211; Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT programming<br \/>\n&#8211; Experience in power generation, energy systems, fuel cells, or other process industries<br \/>\n&#8211; Experience working in international project environments<\/p>\n<p>To succeed in the role, your personal skills are:<br \/>\n&#8211; Systematic<br \/>\n&#8211; Responsible and proactive<br \/>\n&#8211; Good communication and cooperation skills<\/p>\n<p>Our recruitment process<\/p>\n<p>This recruitment process is handled by Academic Work and it is our clients wish that all questions regarding the position are directed to Academic Work.<\/p>\n<p>Our selection process is continuous and the advert may close before the recruitment process is completed if we have moved forward to the next phase.
