SSAB Europe is seeking a Product Engineer for its hot rolled strip and hot rolled plate product groups.<\/p>\n

About the position<\/p>\n

As a Product Engineer, you will assist the designated Product Manager.<\/p>\n

The first product group consists of hot rolled strip productscut-to-length sheets, slit coils, and coilsused in building construction, machinery, industrial applications, heavy transport, and automotive sectors. These products are currently manufactured in Borl\u00e4nge (Sweden) and Raahe (Finland) and in the future in Lule\u00e5 (Sweden).<\/p>\n

The second product group includes hot rolled plate products with greater thickness and width, used in previously mentioned sectors as well as shipbuilding, offshore, and energy. SSAB Europe mainly produces these plates at its Raahe site (Finland), and to a lesser extent in Oxel\u00f6sund (Sweden).<\/p>\n

Both product groups are key groups in SSABs green transformation, offering both rewarding and challenging prospects in all production locations.<\/p>\n

Main responsibilities<\/p>\n

– Support customer-, segment-, and application-driven product development.<\/p>\n

– Initiate and justify new product development projects by business cases.<\/p>\n

– Monitor product volumes, costs, pricing, and profitability.<\/p>\n

– Drive profitability improvement and value-added product development.<\/p>\n

– Prepare portfolio reviews and manage internal\/external product communication.<\/p>\n

– Coordinate short- and long-term product development activities.<\/p>\n

– Contribute as a core member in product development steering group and as a member of product lines.<\/p>\n

– Support with the optimal production capacity utilization for maximum efficiency and profit per line and site.<\/p>\n

You will collaborate with teams in product development, product planning, production, marketing, business development, and sales. You will work with various production sites.<\/p>\n

About You<\/p>\n

– Master of Science or equivalent.<\/p>\n

– Knowledge of hot rolled strip and\/or plate products from R&D or production or sales support or sales or other relevant areas.<\/p>\n

– Good collaboration and interaction skills and the ability to work at the interfaces of different areas of expertise.<\/p>\n

– Genuine interest and an ability to build long-term internal\/external relationships.<\/p>\n

– Fluent in English. Swedish and\/or Finnish is an advantage.<\/p>\n

– Good office tool skills and presentation and communication skills.<\/p>\n

– You are analytical and systematic. You are adaptable and comfortable to tolerate a fast-paced work environment at times.<\/p>\n

As an individual, you are proactive, able to act and work independently and at the same time a good team player. You are a fast learner with great problem-solving skills. You should be able to influence, without formal mandate since it is important to be successful in this role, as there are often several interfaces and functions involved. You are expected to be ready to travel within the Nordics and occasionally to the rest of Europe. You are good at seeing and creating customer value based on their and our needs, both present and future.<\/p>\n
