How about a backstage pass to the music industry? Would you like to influence how people learn to play music? Musopia is looking for a product and marketing oriented Head of Data to lead our data function and elevate it to the next level. You are a hands-on leader who combines strategic thinking with execution and has a proven track record of driving growth through data.<\/p>\n

A modern data stack already exists and is actively used, so this is not a ‘build from zero’ role. Instead, your mandate is to scale what works, fix what doesnt, and unlock the next phase of growth, especially in scaling Paid UA, monetisation and product optimisation.<\/p>\n

You will work closely with product, marketing and leadership, owning the data function and ensuring it directly drives business outcomes.<\/p>\n

– Drive Paid UA performance through robust measurement, attribution and incrementality frameworks
\n– Identify growth opportunities and bottlenecks across the full funnel (UA, activation, retention and revenue)
\n– Act as a strategic partner to leadership, not just a reporting function
\n– Own the company-wide data strategy and ensure direct linkage to growth and profitability targets
\n– Partner with product and marketing leadership to define and evolve KPIs across acquisition, retention and monetisation
\n– Translate data into clear, actionable recommendations that influence senior leadership decisions
\n– Collaborate closely with the Head of Finance to align data insights with financial planning, forecasting and unit economics optimisation
\n– Build a strong data culture focused on impact, accountability and continuous learning
\n– Lead and scale the data function, setting a high performance bar
\n– Oversee dashboards and reporting to enable fast, high-quality decision-making across teams
\n– Improve data quality, modelling and self-service capabilities across the organisation
\n– Own experimentation frameworks (A\/B testing, incrementality, causal inference) and ensure they drive real impact<\/p>\n

REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n

– Proven track record in a senior data role within mobile apps, gaming or SaaS
\n– Demonstrated success scaling Paid User Acquisition in the post-privacy era (e.g. SKAN, signal loss, MMM, incrementality)
\n– Strong understanding of growth systems: acquisition, activation, retention and monetisation
\n– Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels
\n– Strong business judgement and ability to influence senior stakeholders
\n– Experience translating complex analysis into clear, commercially relevant actions
\n– Experience building and scaling self-service data platforms or products that empower non-technical stakeholders
\n– AI driven and experience in implementing AI projects in data context
\n– Experience in Predictive modelling i.e. LTV predictions, payback windows for UA investments, churns, user behaviours etc.
\n– Experience in data engineering, building data pipelines and infrastructure
\n– Experience with modern data stack and data modelling (e.g. dbt or similar)
\n– Advanced SQL and solid Python skills
\n– Strong experience with BI tools
\n– Solid grounding in statistics and experimentation methodologies
\n– Experience with version control
\n– Excellent communication and leadership skills<\/p>\n

NICE TO HAVE<\/p>\n

– Experience with BigQuery or similar cloud data warehouses
\n– Experience building or scaling high-performing data teams
\n– Background in subscription or free-to-play business models
\n– Love for music<\/p>\n

Our office is in Helsinki, and for team collaboration we expect our people to work two days per week in the office. Our team is easy-going yet super talented and ambitious and we are set to make an impact on the future. Note that playing a musical instrument is a benefit, but not at all mandatory. There is a fair chance to learn, as everybody gets a free Guitar or an Ukulele!<\/p>\n
